From 2001 - 2003 Sean worked as part of the West Virginia University Formula Lightning team performing electronics and fiberglass work. With the series slowly fading out it was time to drop the wrenches and pick up the steering wheel. 

Sean started his Solo2 career in late 2004, competing in the SCCA HS class with his 1994 Honda Accord EX. Despite having a non-competitive car, he fared well enough to finish Runner Up in the 2005 Southern WV Region of the SCCA Solo2 championship. Towards the tail end of 2005 Sean purchased a 1988 Honda CRX Si to replace the Accord as a Solo2 car.

Sean joined the number 18 Flatoutracing/Team iCarp team as crew member for SCCA's annual "Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point". The team went on to take the ITA class win in their first attempt. He also crewed for Jon Kofod in the NASA Honda Challenge series during the latter part of the 2005 season; and later took over as webmaster for the Flatoutracing.com site replacing the original designer/webmaster Josh Curtis.

In 2006 Banerjee served as crew chief for Hankook Tires/Flatoutracing driver Jon Kofod in the Mid Atlantic Road Racing Series. While in the 2006 Solo2 season he went on to win the Southern WV Region of the SCCA GS title with an amazing 5 consecutive wins and a third place in 6 races.

Banerjee continued as crew chief for Jon Kofod in 2007 as the Hankook Tires/Flatoutracing team took the 2007 MARRS ITS Title. In SCCA Solo2 he went on to take top honors in STS2 in the Steel Cities Region, narrowly missing an official title as he did not compete in the minimum required events.

Plans for 2008 include competing in the Southern WV, Steel Cities and Cumberland region in the very competitive SCCA STS2 class, as well as attending the several National Tours and the SCCA Solo Nationals at Topeka, KS.

John Tavolacci began autoxing in November 2006 with his 2002 Honda Civic Si in the HS class running the Hankook Z214 C50 compound tires. Tavolacci proved to be one of the exciting new drivers to emerge in the Southern WV and Steel Cities Region. In 2007 he went on to finish in third place overall in the Southern WV Region with one win. Suspension problems in the middle part of the season hindered a better championship position.

John joined the Flatoutracing team in 2007, after being recruited by Hankook Tires/Flatoutracing driver Jon Kofod's crew chief Sean Banerjee. He served as crew member for Jon Kofod in 2007 as the Hankook Tires/Flatoutracing team took the 2007 MARRS ITS Title.

Plans for 2008 include competing in the Southern WV and Steel Cities region in the very competitive SCCA HS class, as well as attending the several National Tours and the SCCA Solo Nationals at Topeka, KS.
