Reston, VA (April 20th) - Flatoutracing's Jon Kofod will be filling a vacant race seat for Alex Ratcliffe and the Kingrat Motorsports team in the 2nd and 3rd round of the SCCA Mid Atlantic Road Race Series at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), May 7th and 8th.

Mr. Kofod has campaigned a Spec Racer Ford in the competitive MARRS series and SCCA each of the past two seasons with Hagerman RacEngineering and has extensive race experience at VIR.

"Alex had a race seat available for the MARRS race and his Acura Integra GSR is very similar to the #40 Acura LS we are campaigning in the National Auto Sport Association's Honda Challenge so it was a natural fit."

The #23 Kingrat Motorsports Acura GSR, with Ratcliffe driving, won the National Auto Sport Association's Honda Challenge H3 Championship in 2003 with 8 straight victories and was a former Motorola Cup winner with the Planet Earth Motorsports team. The #23 Acura GSR will be raced in the Improved Touring Sedan class (ITS) where it will be competing against the BMW 3 Series, Porsche 944, and Mazda RX7's.

The car will be sponsored by Guident Technologies, Inc. and Kumho Tires.
